Accidents & Emergency
The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital is located in a rural setting of Western region of Kenya in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu district, North of Rift Valley province. It is about 320km North West of Nairobi. The hospital is located along the Nandi Road, East of Eldoret town. There are signposts in strategic positions along main roads in the town to guide visitors, clients and patients to the hospital.
Our Services
The hospital provides a range of health services in three categories namely: Curative, Preventive and Rehabilitative.
Outpatient Services
The unit is housed in the main OPD complex and is located along the main road making it easily accessible. The unit is manned by qualified staff of different specialties as dictated by the service they offer. The hospital is painted in different colours to reflect the diverse clinics; i.e. Ambulatory Clinics(Red), Reproductive (Tango Red), Sick Child (Yellow), Consultant Clinics (Venetian green) and Accident & Emergency (Baby Blue) Other departments and services available include;
Accident and emergency
This unit is open 24 hours and is equipped to handle any emergency. Emergency rooms, Minor theatre, Plaster room, X-ray room, Observation ward and Laboratory Services.
Dental Services
Specialized services include: Complete and Partial Dentures, Reduction of fractured jaws and extraction.
Majaliwa Theatre
This is a five theatre complex namely; Arap Samoei, Lenana, Mathews, George Rapp and Adamba.
Intensive Care Unit
It is a nine bed intensive care unit offering both Paediatric and Adult services.
Consultant and Specialist Clinics
The Consultants and specialists run on specific days of the week clinics whic are on appointment or either as a referral from the various clinics in the hospital or from another hospital.

There are a total of 550 beds available distributed in various specialties in the hospital, and in two of the hospitals Private Wings namely; Private Wing I and the Private Wing II.

Our laboratories offer a range of medical services both routine and specialized, using modern techniques and equipment in six sections namely: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Histology/Cytology, Parasitology, and Haematology.
Reproductive Health & Well Baby Clinic
Pharmacy
The pharmacy department stocks and dispenses drugs in the hospital and is operational 24 hours. There are seven pharmacies in strategic positions in the hospital to make sure that clients' are not inconvenienced as they collect drugs.
Mortuary Services
The services provided here are Embalming, storing and Post-mortem.
