Nursing Officers should uphold discipline, service dedication and specialization in their professional practice, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa has said.

He added that every Officer working in the Hospital must account for every task performed.

"As officers mandated to carry out this noble duty of healthcare, you need to know that it is a higher calling, service dedication and self discipline is not an option but mandatory," he said.

He made the remarks on 11th January, 2017 in his Boardroom during the induction ceremony of Medical Officers, Nursing Officers and other Administrative Support Officers who have been employed by the Hospital.

The additional officers will inject more energy and improve service delivery to the many people seeking services in the Hospital.

The CEO asked them to commit themselves to the department's values and be advocates of social justice, embracing and respecting diversity, demonstrating professional care and compassion and striving for excellence.

The ceremony is an acknowledgement of staff efforts to earn acceptance and symbolizes the Hospital's formal reception and support as they begin to serve.

Present during the ceremony were; Deputy Director Clinical Services (DDCS) Dr. Francis Ogaro, Senior Assistant Directors, Director of Nursing Services and Heads of Departments.
