Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa on 12th January, 2017 officiated at a groundbreaking ceremony that will see the construction of an ultramodern Kitchen and Laundry Unit. 

A special diet kitchen, cooking place, supplies office, detergent store and changing rooms will feature in the one storey building which will be 1860 square metres.

Wilkori Contractors will carry out the construction of the project that is scheduled to take 60 weeks.

The CEO said that the two projects will go a long way in modernizing services in the Hospital and asked the contractor to do a quality job and deliver the project on time.

"We entrust you with this task and I urge you to do a magnificent job and ensure that you adhere to the stipulated time frame," he said.

He said monthly inspection meetings are mandatory to check on progress.

"I urge the Project Implementation Team to be convening monthly inspection meetings to enable consistent monitoring of the projects," said the CEO. 

At the same time, the Chief Executive Officer commissioned a tarmacked access road linking the AMPATH Centre to the Shoe4Africa Children Hospital and the Riley Mother and Baby Hospital (RMBH).

Other projects that are underway include the expansion of ICU and the Neurosurgery Ward.

The CEO urged Hospital Staff to uphold good ethics and integrity, improve on efficiency and embrace sound moral values while going about their duties.
