Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has donated drugs, valued at Kshs. 800,000 to Kaboi Health Centre, located in Kaboi Location, Nandi South Sub-county, Nandi County.
This follows a multi-Government agency visit to the health facility on July 8th,2017 which found the health centre lacking essential drugs.

Consequently, MTRH Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, committed to supply the facility with assorted drugs lasting at least two months as part of the Hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Ministry of Health will thereafter establish a mechanism of steadying the supply of drugs at the facility.

Senior Pharmaceutical Technologist at MTRH, Mr. David Rono, presented the drugs to officials of the Kaboi health centre on 19th July, 2017. The Chairperson of the health centre, Mr. George Ruto, Nursing Officer in-charge and other administrative committee members received the consignment.

Mr. Rono, who was representing the CEO, said that MTRH will continue reaching out to those in need of medical necessities through medical camps under the CSR arm of the Hospital.

"As a National Teaching and Referral Hospital we have a mandate to provide health care to everyone in any part of the country," he said.

On their part, the Dispensary's Chairperson George Ruto thanked MTRH CEO, Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, for his quick response in supplying them with assorted drugs.

"We thank the Management of MTRH for responding to our request promptly. This is a big boost to many of our patients who can't afford to travel to facilities located far away from our Region," Ruto said.

MTRH has been facilitating CSR activities in many parts of the country, among them, a major Medical Camp done in Tiaty Sub-County in April, 2017. This was done in collaboration with the Kenya Defence Forces.

The Hospital has held medical camps in the past in Bungoma, West Pokot, Baringo, Nandi, Vihiga, Uasin Gishu and Busia counties. We intend to reach out more in this financial year (2017/2018).
