The Vision of the department is to maintain high standards of preparation and service of meals for patients and non patients In the catering department we have four sections which are:

  • Main Kitchen –which caters for in -patient meals for all the General wards.
  • Private Wing I Kitchen –it caters for needs in this private wing
  • Private Wing II –it caters  for all meals in this wing.
  • Cafeteria –it caters for staff and visitors who visit the Hospital, in this section we offer catering services for all workshops/seminars within the hospital premise.

Personnel
The staff are trained from reputable catering colleges in Kenya e.g Utalii college.

Training
The hospital is mandated to train and hence we offer attachment to various students from all over the country and also from institution outside e.g Makerere University.

Service to our clients
Our clients in the general wards are given balanced diets which are designed by the  hospital nutritionists  and in the Private wings the clients are given the chance to decide what they would wish to eat but under the supervision of the nutritionists.
The patients hospitals are given meals at set times but can request for meals even at night.
The department is committed to providing the best services to our diverse clientele.
