Hospital Seeks More Strategic Partnerships
In a strategic move, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital has expanded its International network to make it more comprehensive and will now collaborate with more institutions in the United States including the University of Minnesota.
The University has collaborations with 26 other International Universities/Institutions across the globe.
This follows successful meetings held in Kenya and the United States relating to an affiliation agreement. The meeting agreed to start with exchange programmes and to improve with the Champions of the Programmes (Team Leaders).
An enabling agreement will soon be signed between Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and the University of Minnesota Medical School.
The scope of collaboration includes but is not limited to the following; developing and sharing intellectual and technical interactions through joint Clinical and Education effort, developing and sustaining research collaboration as well as collaborating in the realization of individual and collective obligations under the agreement.
The University of Minnesota Medical School was represented by Mark S.Paller (Senior Associate Dean) Philip Peterson (International Medical Education and Research Programme) and Paul Quie (Professor Emeritus of Paediatrics and Co-Director).
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital was represented by a delegation led by the Director, Dr. John Kibosia. The others included Dr. Wilson Aruasa (Assistant Deputy Director Clinical Services) and Ms. Selah Plapan (Head, Public Relations and Marketing department).
Also present was the International Leadership Institute represented by its President Rtd. Judge La June Lange, Coventry Cowens and the Eldoret Municipality Town Clerk, Stanislas Ondimu.
