DEPUTY SUPPLIES AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER (SCALE M5):

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position.

· The Deputy Supplies and Procurement Manager will be reporting to the Supplies and Procurement Manager and shall be responsible for the Tender Secretariat and other duties as specified by the Management.

Responsibilities

Ø Prepare tender documents in liason with the user departments and participate in the evaluation of tenders, proposals, quotations, etc.

Ø Issue procurement and disposal documents to candidates (Supplies) in accordance with the Act and Regulations and co-ordinate the receiving and opening of Tenders/pre-qualifications, REP, Quotations.

Ø Maintain and update annually standing list of pre-qualified suppliers,

Ø Offer advisory services to user departments for effective and efficient implementation of the procurement plans,

Ø Maintain proper procurement records to ensure adequate audit train, prepare reports (purchase returns) i.e. for submission to the PPOA.

Ø Raise LPOs, conduct periodic and annual stock taking.

Qualifications

Ø Bachelors Degree in Procurement (Supply Chain Management/procurement and supplies), Commerce, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized institution and professional qualification(s) in purchasing and supplies.

Ø Proficiency in MS-office applications;

Ø Good analytical, communication and negotiation skills;

Ø Must be a person of high integrity and a team player and

Ø Membership to the chartered institute of procurement and Supplies (CIPS) or Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is mandatory for this position.
